Multiple > protests in solidarity were held throughout the country. > > These > brave struggles born of righteous anger of the multinational workers and > people of our country, express the broad dissatisfaction with a rotten > system and its rotten government. These struggles arise from the very > nature of capitalism itself and carry within them the seeds to defeat > it. Every spark of resistance, every confrontation with the criminals of > ICE, is a reminder that we workers are the masters of our own fate and > that we are not alone: our strength lies in our numbers and > organization. > > In these struggles, we glimpse that a new future is > possible: emancipation from the chains of exploitation and oppression, > with power in the hands of the workers. At the same time, our > confrontations with ICE expose the real character of the government and > its laws. This comes in the context of the need from the capitalist > class to instill greater discipline into the US working class as the > global competition between the US and China intensifies. ICE, CBP and the rest of the > government are all united, serving one purpose; to maintain the > domination of the capitalist class, of the billionaires and business > owners, over us. Only through revolution, > through the working-class seizure of power, will we be able to end the > class terror against working people once and for all. > > Why Minnesota? > > Only > two days after Renee Good was murdered, Treasury Secretary Scott > Bessent, in a speech to the Economic Club in Minnesota, revealed the > sharpening struggle between the Democrats and Republicans surrounding > these killings. In his speech, he criticized the governor, Tim Waltz, > urging business investment and “economic leadership” to return to the > state. The economic restrictions and surveillance measures placed on > Minnesota financial transactions under the pretext of “fraud”, > underpinned with reactionary and racist rhetoric are hand-in-hand with > the criminal operations of ICE in the streets of Minneapolis. > Ultimately, they are measures aimed at securing the terrain for > profitable investments and capital concentration and taming the labor > force, per the strategy of the current administration. > > The > importance of Minnesota to the Trump agenda and the monopolies that back > his project cannot be overlooked. On 21 January, the Senate voted and > approved to lift a 20-year ban on mining near the Minnesota Boundary > Waters Canoe Area. This area is situated in the historically known “Iron > Range” in the Duluth Complex and known today as the Duluth Mining > District. This area is home to some of Earth’s most-highly prospective > deposits of copper, nickel, platinum group metals, and titanium. All of > these metals were identified as “vital to the US economy and national > security” through the Trump administration’s Interior Department 2025 > List of Critical Minerals. Furthermore, the state is the largest > producer of iron ore and taconite and maintains a significant > agricultural sector. It holds major geostrategic importance due to its > railroads and its position as a critical junction linking Canada and the > United States, while also serving as a logistics hub with control over > key trade and transportation routes. Tim Walz rubber-stamps Democratic > policies, including the Biden administration’s 20-year mining ban, > endorsing only those mining efforts that fit the Green New Deal > framework. For the section of the bourgeoisie who have placed their > trust in Trump to overcome gluts in the production of profits, Walz is > an obstacle that must be overcome. > > Therein lies the basis for > Trump’s attacks on Walz: the critical struggle between the two major > blocs of the bourgeoisie, represented by the Republicans and the > Democrats. > > For the Trump administration and fellow Minnesota > Republican Rep. Pete Stauber (representing the mining project > districts), Minnesota is key for the growing war economy, for the > competition between China and the US. The workers and people of > Minnesota are being sacrificed for this competition, for the US to > reclaim its dominant position of power in the imperialist system. As > against this, the CWPUSA proposes that control over resources and the > vast network of transportation must lay in the hands of the workers, not > for war, not for the interests of a few. > > For this to be possible > requires the existence of an independent revolutionary working-class > political party that can unite all of the struggles of the workers and > their allies against the common enemy: capitalism. Only the Communist > Party fulfills this role. > > In 2020, we saw, with the aftermath of > the murder of George Floyd, how the people’s rage at the racist terror > of the police specifically and the government generally, led to a mass > mobilization of the people of Minnesota and across the country. The > underlying conditions of class struggle, exacerbated by capitalist > barbarity, led to uprisings across the country such as had not been seen > for decades. Unfortunately, in the absence of a communist party to > chart that revolutionary path forward, this movement was set upon by the > capitalists and destroyed. From one side, the Democrats and their lap > dogs largely took the head of these movements and successfully disarmed > them ideologically; disconnecting police brutality from capitalism and > funneling them into dead-end reform projects. From the other side, > Republicans and their reactionary attack dogs unleashed the same police > force and other state institutions to violently crush the movement > through mass arrests and individual killings. > > We must not allow > this cycle to continue. The movement against ICE must be linked to the > struggle for socialism-communism.
