In a video posted online last week, two detectives with the Miami Beach Police Department were filmed questioning Raquel Pacheco, a former candidate for statewide office and longtime resident of the seaside resort city, over a post she made criticizing what she said was Mayor Steven Meiner’s hypocrisy around Israel and Palestine.
“This Facebook post was protected speech, and it’s not a close question — not remotely,” said Daniel Tilley, legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida. “In context, the actions and statements by government officials here are likely to have a chilling effect on those who would otherwise voice their critique of the government.”
Pacheco’s comment came in response to a post by Meiner in which he called out New York City for alleged antisemitism after Mayor Zohran Mamdani rescinded his predecessor’s controversial executive orders on Israel. Meiner post echoed the Israeli government’s response to Mamdani.

In a world where there was a Nazi state trying to convince right wingers that “the Jews control everything” I don’t think most people could tell a difference between that and the Zionist in Washington and Israel.
Like, I can because I pay attention; and understand the historical means that have lead us to this abomination and perversion of the Jewish faith being entirely associated with an apartheid ethnostate.
But, fuck me, it’s like they are trying to confirm every Nazi stereotype of Jews.
I’m convinced at this point that the Zionism is just a means of justifying the creation of all states being ethnostates. Which, is exactly what the Nazis wanted to begin with.
It’s just so hard to explain the relationship of western capitalist interest that have formed the ethnostate of Israel to begin with. How they expanded it’s initial colonial project using the Holocaust as a means of justification. It takes so much effort to actually try to explain any of this to someone.
They need to understand class struggle, Imperialism, colonialism, racism, etc.
It is just exhausting to combat Antisemitism at this point. Israel and the US are essentially doing everything in their power to fuel it.
The US using antisemitism to target anti Zionist as a means to destroy all decent within its fascist state. Well, that’s just fucking expected at this point.
I hate this reality we live in.
