I killed my Proraso Pre-shave yesterday. It’s always sad to me. It’s such a nice jar.
Today was my first shave with the Superslant L3++ (I have been shaving with the L3 base plate). It’s noticeably more efficient. I took it slow and ended up with a comfortable shave.

Have a good one.
Damn, that’s a pretty aggressive-looking slant!
I’m sure my quest will end up in smiley straight razors :)
Quality macro photography!
Thanks!

Decent results. The razor bit me in a weird way, though. Usually a straight will bite parallel to the edge, usually as a result of accidental movement in that direction. This bite was a shallow slice perpendicular to the blade, in the direction of travel. At first I thought maybe it was the square toe that dug in a bit, but the location doesn’t make sense… A bit of a mystery.
Either way, happy with the shave! Closeness is good enough. The razor had a nice soft feel.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Great test shave with this Ale razor. This was my second use of Areffa Soap August Moon. This has a wonderful soap base (bear tallow) and has a subtle fragrance which opens up beautifully as you use it.

A nice anisic shave. The brush is new to me and performed excellently. I may raise the loft, but want to spend some more time with it as-is first.

I don’t know whether it’s me or the brush, but I’ve been less enthused with the OC boar lately. But solid lather with a good soap. The shave was not that close – maybe I should get rid of this blade.
Have a good night!
