Love a bit of dark skies and trying to find my way about the sky. Hard to do in Edinburgh! But Galloway been on my todo list for a while now
We stayed in the Galloway Dark Sky park in September, and even though it rained constantly in the day time, it cleared up at night. The stars were absolutely breathtaking. Definitely do it if you get a chance.
This isn’t exactly how it looked, it was a bit fainter than this, but it gives a decent idea. Taken with my phone, by the way.

Also, we stayed in this fun geodesic dome, which was great!

Incredible shots, looks a hoot!
Yeah, it was brilliant. Hell of a long drive, but well worth it. Also, saw loads of red squirrels just outside the dome (they have feeders set up to attract them, and you can watch them through the “window” panels).
Hard to get a good shot as they rarely stay still for long, but here’s one example:

Used to go to the dark sky park often. Visited the Observatory once. So sad when it burned down. Glad to see something being done to replace it!!
