    Side note: it is absolutely fucking wild to me that one can no longer assume that stuff the CDC says can be taken at face value, in good faith. The destruction and politicization of once-staunchly-independent - and globally, crucially important - regulatory agencies is going to be felt for decades. I’m sure there will be some silver linings, but the wanton destruction and discarding of millennia of accumulated human knowledge and expertise in areas like epidemiology and meteorology is just… I can’t even.
