What’s on your mind?

We’re not playing well and despite a turnaround in results I still don’t see or feel “it” when we play. The excitement is gone. I know there were periods during Jurgen’s time here where things weren’t going well but it never felt like this. I can’t even say this reminds me of the Rogers era because we at least had excitement up front then and just a shitshow in defence.
Arne seems presentable in front of the media but I find him difficult to either relate or connect to as a fan. He doesn’t seem to engage in the way that past managers have, like Jurgen, Kenny, Rafa, Ged etc. Even Rogers and his “great character” lines I found more likeable than Slot.
And it really matters at a time when I’m seeing what feels like mediocre performance after mediocre performance and a lowering of standards since last Spring. Reading that fans are happy to scrape a win past wolves at Anfield. Happy with a draw against Leeds. I don’t get it. It’s not good enough and really we should expect better given how much we as fans spend on the club and how much the club recently spent to target “winning the lot”.
watching salah play was the only reason why I supported liverpool in the first place so seeing his drop off is disappointing. this season went horribly. I don’t know why slot changed up a winning formula.
So you’re a Salah fan, not a LFC supporter? Good to know.
I adore Salah. Club legend who can sit at the same table as Rush, Dalglish, Fowler, Gerrard et al.
Slot isn’t a fan boy/girl, he’s the manager and has to do what he believes is in the best long term interest of the club. Slot wasn’t willing to build a team around an aging player, having the rest of the team do his running, tracking back, dummy runs to make him space… it might have worked for another season or two, but all good things come to an end, and time and tide wait for nobody. Any player not performing can and should be dropped. This is the real world, honey - bienvenue.
Slot is the manager of Liverpool Football Club, not Salah.
Slot probably hopes to be employed by LFC in 5 years, Salah won’t be able to perform at the required level of the Premier League in 5 years. It’s how getting older works.
No player will ever be bigger than the club.
TAA was going regardless of whatever Slot or Hughes did.
And Diogo…
So those were 2 big changes that were going to happen last summer, regardless.
Letting Luis Diaz go was clearly premature though, so they did shoot themselves in the foot there.
And all 3 of their absences this season definitely reduced tactical support for Salah to be his best self.
New players require some bedding in time, especiallyif they’re young, regardless of how great they are.
Hopefully the new players will come good and the team will really start to gel in the latter part of the season.
