I haven’t found all of my tools yet, but my home shop is pretty much ready at this point. I hung the pegboard, built the bench and sorted a bunch of stuff into bins. I’m going to build a small table to the right of the workbench for storage from some leftover 2x4s and the boards I pulled down from someone’s else’s half assed closet.

My socket sets, hand miter saw, circular saw, several hand tools, and my soldering station are still somewhere in storage.

This setup is in a one car garage that probably wouldn’t fit anything large than a classic Beetle and has to share space with the family bikes.

I’m picking up the lumber tomorrow! And if the kids aren’t too crazy I’m going to start cutting it as well.

What’s that weird beige rectangle where all the junk is supposed to be?

Both! The back leg of the top shelf is also the back leg of the bench. The middle one is screwed into the frame for both the bench top and the lower shelf. The entire frame is both screwed and glued, with the tops just screwed in so they’re replaceable. Finally, I have a big L bracket at the top screwed into the wall to prevent tip over.

I’m planning on putting a small lip on the top shelf to prevent the bins from falling down during small earthquakes.

This and that. This is a new shop in my new house, which is a 120 year old Queen Anne. So I’m mostly going to be using it for home repairs and small construction. Previously I’ve done a lot of armor building and repair for SCA armored combat, medieval camping gear, gardening projects, general home maintenance and small appliance repair.

      My current project list is:

      1. Floor to ceiling wall to wall bookcase, with ladder
      2. Windows seat/bookshelf for younger daughters room
      3. Moulding to hide some cables downstairs
      4. Better bike storage
      5. Repair back deck
      6. Goth armoires for older daughter
      7. Trim out newly installed closets
      8. Better under stairs storage x2
      9. Cabinet lighting in kitchen

Oh yeah! Of my “expensive” tools, my power miter saw makes a lot of jobs easier, but the drill press lets me do things I couldn’t do without it.

I’m sketching up a design for a rolling cart for my miter saw that I can store to the right of this. I’m going back and forth on if I should do the same for the drill press or just leave it where it is.

Depending on height you could potentially fliptop with both on the same cart.

I’m working on a rolling fliptop for my mitre with the opposing side being flat workbench, with foldout arms that come up the same height as my table saw for an outfeed.

Woah, mind blown! That’s a great idea. Mind sharing any pics/plans/notes for me to crib?

ack, sorry, saw this a bit late. Youtube has tons of flip tops. I’m doing the arms like this - very similar to how I did my sewing table, but in this case having a slight overhang so I can put tool storage under the leaves.

And, now that I’ve done some looking at plans and a pile of geometry, I think my drill press is going to be just a bit too tall and heavy to make it practical. But I will put my miter on one, with space for something on the other side once I’ve finished unpacking the rest of my tools.
