After you use the “Share on Mastodon” feature, you leave the PieFed instance, and there’s the Mastodon instance in the browser.
I’m not sure what Mastodon could do against this. Maybe a source URL parameter to redirect back? But this could potentially get misused.
Mastodon’s share UI looks so minimal. Could it be that it should be used in a window or IFRAME?

Right, yeah the Mastodon UI it is quite small, as if they intend us to put it in a popup or iframe…
Mastodon itself uses the Web Share API to share its posts. But this is only practical for mobile because most users don’t have all the apps installed on the desktop. IMHO.
Is there even a good-practice way to find out if the user visits the site via desktop or mobile browser?
