That is a beautiful picture and makes me want to be there.
However the first thought when reading the title was “Chinese or Japanese?” Thank you Hank Hill for showing how little most Americans knew of other places years ago. (And still true today in too may parts of America)
Did you know that during the 1960s and 70s USA dropped more bombs per capita on Laos than anywhere else in history?
Roughly 270 million cluster bomblets, 30% of which did not explode on impact.
Laos was so different to what I imagined when I visited. I just expected more landscapes like northern Thailand, instead these impressively steep mountains lined the roads I travelled.
Yeah Laos is my fave. Great people, food, landscapes & waterfalls, chill religion.
We had a chance to visit Laos a few years ago and we went to Luang Prabang … the only thing missing from this image is the feeling of standing in extreme sweltering plus 40 degree celcius heat
At some times of the year it’s fairly chilly. When I was there the first thing I did was buy a hoodie! I like how Laos is a bit higher elevation that much of SEA, so it’s weather is a bit less punishing.
