Hello everyone, this is my first post on Lemmy, I wondered if there is there is anyone interested in Romantic/ Victorian goth here? It would be really cool to find people who are into the same style, as this style is really under appreciated, specially amongst men :)

Hi, you’re talking fashion, right? I’ve been Working From Home for the last couple years, but might have to go in-office late next year. Naturally, my first thought was to a new wardrobe. I’ve heard of the term “corporate goth” but would really love to throw in something Edwardian, Victorian, or maybe even medieval into the mix.

I’ve been looking over pics from the WGT Victorian Picnic for ideas. The danger seems to be if I do it wrong, I’d end up looking like a waiter or something. I picked up a quality “renaissance shirt” from online a while back and it looked promising, but the sleeves tore up after a couple washes, and the place seems to be out of business now.

Do you have any links to style guides, or sites with photos for ideas?

idk if I could do any look that involved keeping a coat buttoned up all the time. maybe their server room was very well cooled.

Yes, it was pretty reasonably cooled. Unfortunately, Noel wasn’t in every episode of the show, but it’s still worth checking out. If you haven’t seen the IT crowd before, check out season 2 episode 1 if you can find it. I hurt after watching it, and Noel steals every scene he’s in.

Hey, yeah I am talking about fashion. I haven’t really seen any romantic goth guides per se, however I have learned about the concept a lot in the past year or so, feel free to ask me if you had any questions.

Awesome, thanks! Where/how did you learn about the concept a lot? Online, or through your own practice?

I think you will be right at home here. There’s plenty of love for the aesthetic and style here. 😉
