The segment focuses on interviewing 2 men who had been sent to CECOT by the Trump administration. Both are interviewed inside the CBS studio.

There is also an interview with Juan Pappier, deputy director of Human Rights Watch, a nonprofit human rights group. I think Human Rights Watch is anti-China but this guy does say that he’s against sending migrants to CECOT.

Then there’s a portion with students of the Berkley University’s Human Rights Center. The students watch footage of CECOT and talk about observed human rights abuses.

The segment ends by saying that US DHS refused to participate in the episode. US DHS told 60 Minutes to ask El Salvador to answer questions about CECOT.

Bari Weiss has said that the episode was pulled because it did not present the perspective of Trump’s administration. The episode says that Trump’s admin refused to participate. The implication is that CBS is not allowed to make segments where Trump’s admin refuses to comment.

Get ready to see more like this if the Venezuelan war happens and succeeds. A lot of Central America hates the migrants too and the crime issues that have risen from a number of factors. Get a wave of South American migrants fleeing through Central America and the people will gladly vote for more CECOTS to be built.

I think we’re seeing a Streisand effect. If Bari Weiss hadn’t tried to suppress the episode, it wouldn’t have received as much attention.

It does stand out that they interviewed 2 victims of CECOT. It shows that the people who were deported are just normal people.

CBS became owned by the Ellison Family in August 2025, Larry Ellison is a personal friend of Netanyahu and loyalist to Trump. The Ellison Family purchased Paramount/CBS so that they could make CBS more right wing and Zionist.

This is like a faint but refreshing whiff of journalistic integrity. The fact that it’s at the expense of the current fail daughter du jure is icing on the cake.
