It’s a bodily fluid. Similar to saliva or semen, it’s not going to make you sick if you drink it, but you probably want to trust the source if you do.

Don’t come at me with the it’s no worse than cows milk argument, because I find cows milk disgusting as well.

Why is anything “gross”? It’s mostly cultural. Children do all sorts of shit that adults consider disgusting, because they don’t really have a basis for what constitutes “gross”.

Obviously there’s some biological benefits to finding things gross, which explains why most people agree on the grossness of certain things that could spread disease or cause some other harm (poo, rotten food, bad smells, worms, vomit, etc.). That being said, plenty of people don’t find those things gross, considering the prevalence of various kinks and RFK Jr’s affinity for roadkill, so even those things have some cultural ties to them.

I agree with you, OP. It’s very strange that people find breast milk so gross, but are otherwise accepting of cow and goat milk. There really isn’t a biological reason for this, so it must be almost entirely driven by cultural pressures.

There is a biological reason we humans in general have issue digesting milk.

Europeans developed lactose tolerance as adults around 5000 years ago.

Lactose digesting typically diminishes in mammals as they are weaned off milk.
