This is such a bad take. Collecting data is not evil per se. I don’t mind at all that my music app learns what kind of music I prefer and suggests me more, with the option to opt out. The problem if what else is done with this data.
Agree. Data usage is actually great in theory—it’s mis-usage sans consent that’s the problem.
