That face doesn’t look very aerodynamic
It’s more stealth recon than a fighter design.
In reality, owls aren’t fast. Their feathers are quieter than other birds already, but the dive and glide as opposed to wild flapping to build speed improves their silent approach even more.
It was, but the air pressure at those speeds squashes it in
STOL face.
