Wmill, I have a question. Does this, lack of a better term, orientalist or regional-chauvinist view apply also to migrants and refugees south of Mexico, for Mexicans? Also, I heard, whether chauvinistically, as a ‘joke’ or not, I heard Peru’s kind of a black sheep in Latin America.
Think it deeps from what I hear from family they got more mixed feelings about people from Mexico since they from Mexico other countries they will spout what they heard but are also easier to sway. They tend to have a favorable outlook to white people here but mostly because of how badly other people of color treat them here no doubt reinforcing this kinda outlook. Individualism I think gets absorbed by immigrants. They think if they achieve the lie of the American Dream, they will be exempt from white supremacy. That racism only applies to others and not themselves. It also doesn’t help a lot of anti-communists are the ones with the means to immigrate to the US, either financially or through political connections or both.
Sometimes I wonder if I was spoiled by not having to grow up in the home country. But then I see ICE agents terrorize elementary school kids and I revert back to “Yeah no this country sucks we shouldn’t have left.”

How white people talk about Somalis is a litmus test. I’ve spoken to people I thought were ok or not super racist because they were polite to me, who then showed their whole ass by shit-talking Somalis. And then they had the gall to wonder why I was upset at them for being racist!

A litmus test is a test on the reactions of people, when posed with a certain thing or question, in order to determine their moral character, political principles and so forth.
In this context, if they give a positive or indifferent response, to the question of opinions regarding Somali people, they should pass as good, or just ok people
But if they go on a bigoted rant, that’s when you should drop them.

I want white people to be liberated of their own whiteness. I feel bad for them. I think this is partially possible, but not completely possible.
Once a white person got drunk and cried while talking to me about hating being white. They cannot escape the fact that their upbringing is sterilized of culture from far more ancient ancestors. They resent the fact that their later ancestors cut ties with their own ancestral culture, and made their deal about erasing other people. Still, they can try their best to learn about the side opposing imperialism and to respect everyone that their ancestors spun up race conspiracies about. To not perpetuate white supremacy propaganda.
They may not be able to stop being white, but they can get rid of certain aspects of whiteness. Not just in behavior because that would just be acting nice, but at the roots in their belief system. They can stop downpunching in every way they spot it.

On social media, I have seen this trend of white leftists talking about an “obligation” to reject procreation as a form of resistance against environmental damage and capitalist exploitation. I have seen white leftists endorse antinatalism from the more philosophical angle of “no one can consent to existence.” I have seen a smaller amount of, but still some, white leftists who uphold EFILism (the belief that all sentient life on Earth should be extinguished because suffering is inherent to life.)
In case it isn’t clear, of course I’m not a diehard “pronatalist” who believes that calls to reproduce should be actively pushed onto people, but the belief that procreation is inherently unethical coming from white people especially rubs me the wrong way. Colonized peoples constantly have their existence denied, both via psychological mechanisms (i.e., having ideas that they are “less worthy” pushed onto them) and literal violence. Procreation is something I can only view as a radical act when it is coupled with a people’s desire to prevail even when imperialism and systemic oppression tells them otherwise.

If universities went solely based on GPAs and SAT scores, they would have more Somalian-American and Ethiopian-Americans than white people.
