We’re talking about adding more mods, yes? You’re not planning to be replaced, you’re just wanting to expand the mod team, correct?
As someone who’s a mod on a community that has multiple mods, I strongly suggest that if you’re looking to expand from one to more-than-one, you need to establish a private way to communicate among just the mods.
The rules you’ve got on the sidebar are great to see. (Better than some communities have.) I think communities need a place to discuss whether the rules might need updated, how to interpret the rules, second opinions when one of the mods is on the fence about whether to intervene, whether it’s ok to apply newly-added rules (when adding rules becomes necessary) retroactively, how to handle when mods disagree, etc.
I guess in short, if you’re looking to expand to two or more mods, you’ll need to put together a plan to make sure the mod team can effectively mod.
I am looking to expand the team. The rules were written by the original mod here (who deleted their account), not me.
I’d be willing to do it. I run !dull_mens_club@lemmy.world and !dullsters@dullsters.net as long as there’s not a ton of other mods or power mods on this community. It’s only got 2k subs so it’s not going to get a lot of reports I wouldn’t think.
I’m currently the only mod. I’ll add you now.
How often are you having to deal with reports?
I just got appointed as a mod here yesterday, so I’m not too sure about that yet.
