Android exists so Google can get more advertising & tracking data. That’s all there ever has been to it. It’s not an “alternative” free-as-in-hippies-prancing-in-the-forest, it’s a product that achieves financial goals for its owner. It’s the cheap-as-in-trailer-park device OS.

And it’s unlikely that most people who use it, will care or change because they can’t sideload some pirate or hacker tools.
