Ford is laying off workers while the UAW is striking against Ford, GM, and Stellantis. This is getting complicated.

UAW should shutter all Ford plants as a response.

Hope the Union members can see through it and UAW doesn’t back down.

I wonder how the NLRB will respond.

From what I have seen, the NRLB and the DoL generally have the most solid scrotal metal around. I think they are getting tired of all the corporate double-speak and bullshit as well.

          Ain’t that a recent thing?

Otherwise, how did it get this bad if they enforced laws the entire time?

Underfunding and under-reporting most likely. I feel like the advancement of communities online that share their experiences has driven a lot of movement that they didn’t realize was as needed as it is. Also, companies are becoming increasingly abusive in their policies and activities.

State organs support labor only when labor is organized well enough to promise pain if not appeased.

Give credit to whom it is due, the brave workers and their allies who stand on the line.

I tend to agree, which is why I am heartened by their recent behaviors. It also takes workers who are informed and brave. I actively try to make sure my stepdaughter is at least informed enough to know when to call me.

Staying informed is not an individual activity.

Resilience against misinformation and ignorance derives from mutual education and common trust within an organization.

Yeah, I’ve known about 12ft for awhile, but many sites are wising up to that trick and it has stopped working for more and more of them (e.g. financial times or NYT, I don’t recall which exactly, was one I recently ran into where it won’t work).

If the layoffs are for valid reasons, such as the plant not requiring a shift or reduction in cars being sold. It might be legal.

4. Educate don’t attack

No mocking, demeaning, flamebaiting, purposeful antagonizing, trolling, hateful language, false accusation or allegation, or backseat moderating is allowed. Don’t resort to ad hominem attacks against another user or insult other people, examples of violations would be going after the person rather than the stance they take.

It is impossible to list every example or variation of the rules. It is also impossible to word everything perfectly. Players are expected to understand the intent of the rules and not attempt to “toe the line” or use loopholes to get around the intent of the rule.

9. No posting links to Twitter/X or Meta owned properties

Social Media products such as Twitter/X and Meta Properties (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Threads) are known low quality information sources - they actively spread misinformation without sufficient moderation, hate speech.
