What are some Android tablet brands in the USA other than Google, Lenovo, and Samsung? I’m looking for a #5G tablet in the sub-$300 range and it’s seeming like there’s one Samsung, or several hundred random Chinese Amazon sellers that don’t even have a brand name on the product listing.
Have you checked used or refurbished options? You could get a nice tablet for half the cost probably
I could do refurb direct from manufacturer, but I don’t think I’d ever go for used. Problem is there just doesn’t seem to beany options. Lenovo US only seems to have one model with a cell antenna and it’s only LTE. Other than that it’s Samsung or an import, which I’d be wary of compatible bands.
If you go to in-person stores like Walmart or Costco, they often have exclusive brands of low-budget devices like TCL. They won’t be very powerful but you won’t get much value at this price point.
Maybe the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro 5G? In the EU, it costs about 280€.
There doesn’t appear to be a US version of that, that I can find.
Lenovo has the “Lenovo Tab M10 TB360ZU” for sale at 210€, but I cannot find it on the US website of lenovo. However, I would not recommend it as it only has 4GB of ram.
After that, I couldn’t find any other options (except those cheapish noname tablets)
but I cannot find it on the US website of lenovo.
That’s kind of the crux of it. I’d prefer Lenovo to be less removed from stock, but they only appear to have a single LTE model and no 5G. And they have soo many different variations on the same model it’s so easy to unwittingly buy the crappy version. If you go to android.com/tablets to try and find manufacturers, it’s literally just Google and Samsung. But the Samsung Tab A9+ only comes with 5g in the low end model with 4GB of ram.
A9+ X216 has 5G, 8GB and is available for 230€, not sure if it’s any good or available in your region though
Looks like I can get an international version on Amazon, would have to check the supported cell bands.
You can check eBay for a refurbished one you like for a good discount. I got a refurbished phone for half the retail price that way
True. Though I’d probably go for a new unit without the 5g and just keep tethering my phone hotspot. But like, I can get a $200 Moto phone from Lenovo with wifi and 5G (and 8G RAM), so why can’t I get a $300 tablet from them (even with only 4G memory)?

If your cell service can provide it, I find tethering preferred. Beats having to open another line imo
As for cost, probably something to do with the size, idk
I’m on Google Fi which lets you just add extra SIM cards to share a single data plan between devices. So just a one-time cost for the card.
