The incident is the latest in a surge of violence and near-daily confrontations in the volatile West Bank, where settler violence and clashes between Israeli forces and armed Palestinians have kept it on edge.

The mayor of Turmus Ayya, Adeeb Lafi, told Reuters earlier in the day that Omar Mohammad Rabea, 14, was shot along with two other teenagers by an Israeli settler at the entrance to Turmus Ayya and that the Israeli army pronounced him dead after detaining him.

However, the Palestinian foreign ministry condemned the incident as an “extra-judicial killing” by Israeli forces during a raid in the town, saying it was the result of Israel’s “continued impunity”.

The fist headline I saw on this was full-on click-bait. Just said American was killed, so I think, “oh shit, things might get interesting.” Then I open and see in the first paragraph it was a Palestinian American, and immediately think “well shit, the people who matter aren’t going to care.” Honestly, I’m surprised any part of me still thought anyone who mattered might care at all.

you remember the Jewish Palesintinian convert who was killed point blank close range at a checkpoint because he was palestinian? Not even Israel gave a fuck about that Jewish guy because of his ethnicity. Same thing will happen here , no one will give a fuck about this American. Btw so many Palesintian Americans have died and got mutilated by Israelis in Gaza with American weapons paid by taxes from US citizens themselves
