Baseband recording (cut with SDRAngel using FileSink)
When modulated, it looks like Orbcomm mobile telephony, but in that case the data bursts happen more often and there’s no visible carrier.
I also didn’t find anything corresponding in the Happysat’s Deadsat list.
What could it be? Zombie Orbcomm satellite or something else?
I had a look, If you mean local time then It could be ORBCOMM FM26 or FM25, they are the only ORBCOMMs the sky in that time range. it sounds to me like the OrbComm Mobile Telephony signal but with much lower frequency of bursts.
I tried searching with srft, but I just couldn’t remember how to use it, I’ve had it working before, but I can’t remember how.
I’ve found a few of these unknown signals myself, there are just too many satellites to easily figure out which one it could be.The time is in UTC (Z = Zulu = UTC) which is 11:43:04 local time. I could have made that clearer, sorry.
What did you use for the satellite tracking?Edit: I loaded Orbcomm TLEs into Gpredict. There were Orbcomm FM18 and FM14
Yeah, I also use gpredict. I used the time controller to set the time.
Sorry, I forgot the Z was for UTC, I did try UTC too but there didn’t seem to be any close matches.
There is also a website that shows all the satellites overhead in a time range, I’ll see if I can find that again.
I just realised you already said it looks like the Orbcomm signal in the post, sorry about that! I completely missed it when I made my comment.
