    If I remember correctly, Marx was clear that the size of a government under communism (rather than corrupted dictatorship of the proletariat as in the Soviet Union etc) would be much smaller than anything achievable under capitalism. Based on what I read, this made sense.

    Places like China, that apparently still call themselves ‘communist’ have been authoritarian state capitalism for decades.

    But whatever, I guess it is many decades too late to matter, if it ever mattered at all.
