    No micromanaging. My boss said: “I don’t care how long you take for lunch, just put in your 40 hours and get your projects done on time.”

    Coming from previous jobs that I had to clock in/out of with strict lunch times, that was mind-blowing. Been working there 3 years now.

      I had the same culture shock once. Worked on the corporate side of a fitness club that said, we ask if you could please limit taking at most one class per day during work hours. Because people would end up taking class after class… It was a soft rule that most of the die hard class fans broke all the time with no issues.

      Place before that, if you were >15 min late, you had to interrupt the CEO with whatever meeting he had and tell him why you were late. Suppliers, partners, negotiations, doesn’t matter the meeting. This was a non customer facing corporate job in a company of like 100+ people that was like 50+ years old…
