Considering the recent changes it would be so lovely if a coven ended up forming here too. The subreddit is one of my favorite places on the internet, but I doubt it will survive the recent sitewide changes for long with the timing of the new rule and how left-leaning the sub is.

OC pic of a mushroom I took just because mushrooms.

I’m so happy to see more of us. I migrated here during the first big migration. I’ve been waiting for this next wave. Welcome witches, make yourselves at home 🧙🏽‍♀️

Only ever lurked on reddit but really hopeful to see this community come together on here, and excited to actually be a part of it as well!

Looks like I finally got a Lemmy comment through to automod. The mods might still remove it though. We’ll see.

Great work! I think I’ll try for other subs. Let us know if it’s successful.

It might be the time tone encoding and steganography. But I believe witches and our history are fairly familiar with speaking in code to communicate.

        Thanks for updating us

A mod actually responded to my Lemmy comment. So apparently the subreddit isn’t affiliated with this community here on Lemmy. But they do have something they are working on and are sharing this link https://witchesvspatriarchy.com/waitlist/

Do with that what you will. I am personally joining ALL of the options where the Reddit WvP might be moving and seeing which one feels the closest to home in the end. But my comment is remaining up on the subreddit so at least a few people will see it and can choose to check it out.

I keep on responding to every post that complains about Reddit on WvP. I haven’t posted individually just yet and haven’t seen a post either. But I have seen that people were banned in other subreddits for more outright promotion of Lemmy. For now I’m staying under the radar it seems.

lol, never mind. Turns out half of anything I ever did on Reddit got shadow banned - including the comments about Lemmy. I put up a goodbye post on WvP which is pending approval and will likely never see the light of day. I am done interacting with anything over there.

Genuinely wonder what I did. I’m such a people pleaser, lol. I’m working on it but I genuinely didn’t feel like I was causing trouble. Though I suspect that part of it is that I’m not neurotypical and mods just don’t like my communication style.

Now working on deleting all my contributions I made to Reddit in the last nearly 8 years. It happens so frequently that I look some info up on a search engine with Reddit being one of the top results. I don’t want to be the reason Reddit shows up in those results.

This reminds me of when they made that API change and everyone mangled their posts and comments to stick it to spez. Instead of deleting consider editing them to point to lemmy or something subversive.

It’s really the amazing, wholesome community of people that makes it special. And just because it happened to start on Reddit doesn’t mean it’ll necessarily stay there. For now I’m still on both and I’ll keep on suggesting Lemmy to Reddit users until my account gets blocked for it, lol.
