awhile back, but “apps” were mostly demos and many of them didn’t really work at all. I’m very interested in this project but it seems like it’s having trouble taking off.

I’m totally agree. The project is awesome, but it is not useful and it moves very slowly
It has the basic problem the semantic web stuff had; it would be really cool if we all did this thing, but what incentivizes us to do the thing? Especially in the context of the web as currently constituted, it’s collective action problems all the way down. I wish them well, though, maybe AI will make a space for this kind of stuff.
