exA Arcade, sellers of hugely expensive arcade cabinets, who often have exclusive rights to the games they sell, had an event, which was covered by Arcade Heroes. Of note in the article is that exA will be releasing a remaster of Air Gallet. From the report:

One game that exA focused on quite a bit for the stream was the vertical scrolling shoot ’em up remaster of Banpresto/Gazelle’s 1996 release, Airgallet. A bit of a rarity outside of Japan, I played this for the first time at IAAPA 2024. If you haven’t played it before, think of games like Batsugun, as some of the same people were involved on both games.

(It’s unrelated to shmups, but there’s also a cross between Dig Dug and Bomberman called “Bomber Bunny” which looks like it’d be fun.)
