    Wish I had some money. But it would also be kinda nice to see how much money they need to fulfill the server costs, while also showing us how much they already get.

    I do remember that blahaj zone is rather expensive with some thousands per month I think.

    Would be nice to have some transparency about this, kinda like catbox does it on their homepage

      If I recall correctly, that cost was a large blowout due to an expensive provider, and blahaj has now migrated to a provider that has more reasonable fees.

      I have a quite small instance costing me $223 per year. I outline this and the current donations on my opencollective. https://opencollective.com/thelemmyclub

      But I can cover these costs myself so I don’t push it much. If we ever grow much I’ll probably stop allowing signups, don’t have time to run a bigger instance, and the money could begin to be an issue too.

        Which instance? I’m on many of them.

        (Some are Mastodon, those ones have more content than shown in search but microblog content isn’t visible to Lemmy)

        Even if I could donate to one of them I couldn’t donate to all of them.
