The truth is not relevant anymore. Its more important how something make you feel than if is truth or not. What’s why alt-right its so popular and the fake news are so easy to spread.

Understand, mainly they are not saying what they believe, they are saying what would need to be true to justify what they are planning.

      Fascists don’t like intellectuals.

Yes great explanation! So the burden of proof (which is like impossible when arguing with those bad faith actors) is on you and not them.

        And “journalists” run with it…

You don’t owe Nazis shit, and the liberal media was complicit in their rise back then, too.

The only way people who support Trump can rationalize this is if it would not destroy their image of him. Climate change being real would mean their hero is a liar. Same goes for any other explanation. That’s why they come up with the only explanations that could in theory be true but do not prove the guy is a liar.

      It’s cognitive dissonance.

Yes and it’s bullshit. They’ll believe the most ridiculous shit but will turn their noses up at a science book.

If there is reality that points at corporations being bad, people they care about being bad, or climate change the radical right will create a set of lies to hide the truth, so yes, except for things that aren’t politically controversial
