After the article recently about the Canadian police blaming cyclist for “dangerous behavior” I was reminded about this old chart I saw on Reddit.

Ban cars from cities. Heal our communities

I swear that in some places wearing hi-vis is more likely to make drivers hate you and want to run you over because they think you look stupid.

Best thing to do is wobble around looking like you are going to just tumble under their wheels so that they may actually give you some room to avoid the hassle of giving a statement to the police.

There recently was a post on that other place with a study that showed, stuff like hig-vis was having an effect to dehumanize bicyclists. So you are not just imagining it.

Here is an article about that.

Yeah, I can attest that the drivers are much nicer to me when I’m commuting to my University in normal clothes rather than wearing hi viz stuff.

It’s definitely true, but I still wear it when the weather is crap or it’s dark. I’d rather be seen and honked at than missed entirely

Recently a Belgian school obliged helmets when driving a bicycle to school, because a boy had an accident with a head injury. No measures were taken to prevent the killing machines. And the article I read did not ask one question about it. I didn’t now where to start. Seems so pointless to scream and yell in a feedback mail or whatever.

I wonder if in some weird way, this is why there are no railings in Star Wars. 🤔

The empire’s engineer’s saw people falling over the railings and attributed the hazard to the railing, so they eliminated the railing thus removing the hazard.
