Up until this point, a PlayStation Network account was not required to play the game on Steam.

    It wasn’t added after launch. You could bypass it. Now they are changing that.

      That’s true. Personally though, it not being optional for any amount of time just shows that there’s no good argument to have it be mandatory in the first place.
