Those pierogi are a billion times better than all the “things” I’ve ever tried, you should be proud of yourself.

Thanks, but I didn’t make them, I bought them premade.

This is poland. Pierogi aren’t considered some exotic delicacy like in the us. This is like the cheapest ready made meal you can get here. Maybe except zapiekanka.

They’re not seen as an exotic delicacy in the US. It’s just that here, they’re mostly only eaten by those of us whose families come from a Slavic background. The rest of the US is only just starting to learn about pierogi at all in the last few years.

Interesting, I thought that they have been widely known in the US for decades since there’s so many polish immigrants over there. Just kind of a ethnic food, not an everyday one.

Anyways, I was just trying to point out that this is the most basic of ready made meals you can get here in PL.

          • It depends on the area of the US. In some cities pieorgies are widely available and just another ethnic food like Italian or Chinese. In other cities they’re basically unheard of.

As someone with a polish grandma who even brings flour and sauerkraut with her from Poland each Christmas because only polish flower and sauerkraut is good enough, I feel offended by this and to think you did not even take five minutes to quickly fry some onions! SHAME SHAME SHAME!
