Scoop this up if you like the sound of a simple soulslike steeped in psychological horror and Norse mythology. Headphones required for the best experience, not just atmospherically but for story and game play purposes as well.
Excellent game with an impending sequel.
What makes it “soulslike”? This seems more like a generic action-adventure game like God of War or Devil May Cry, with an emphasis on atmosphere.
Looks interesting, I’ll probably play it this weekend.
Just the combat system. Very simple, more like a soulslite to be honest. Timed parries, dark fantasy, and a death limiter a la Sekiro are what make me think soulslike, but you’ll find it easier and simpler on the gameplay side than most games in that category I think.
It was US $4 in the winter holiday sale so it’s surprising so already see another $1 off.
Probably for the announcement of a release date for the sequel (apparently announced this week). Give people a few months to play the original and get the word out about the sequel.
