      Are you saying I can’t criticize immigration because my family generations ago are immigrants? If not, then I did miss your point.

      My rebuttal to that is that I did not choose to be born here. And I’m here now and it’s obvious that immigration levels are too high given our failing housing and health care policies for example.

        You can certainly criticize immigration policy, but having a problem with immigrants seems like a double standard.

        Does that make sense now?

          Yes so why are you assuming that’s not the reasoning the people in the poll have? Barely anyone in Canada actually dislikes immigrants themselves

            Well, you have to read the article/poll, because a large number said that immigrants (as people) are a harm to Canada.

            Barely anyone in Canada actually dislikes immigrants themselves

            We can agree to disagree on this point. Seeing how hate crimes are up, and that only visible minority immigrants are targeted, I’d say we are far from having a country where everyone likes immigrants (as people).

              Aren’t those hate crimes mostly among immigrants themselves? The recent gang problems in Vancouver are all from India.

              I don’t really pay attention outside of BC on this though
