In Oklahoma, primary elections are partially closed – voters unaffiliated with a political party are able to cast ballots in Democratic, but not Republican, primaries. There's a movement to change that.
For the last few years, the Oklahoma Democratic party invited Independents and Libertarians to vote in their primary. The OK GOP hasn’t opened up. I like the idea of Open Primaries. Or at least move any race that only has one party candidates to the general election. It’s been years since I’ve gotten to vote for Sheriff.
