      I’m a crazy person and I don’t bother to remove the shells from the tails. I straight up eat the shell part with the exception of the bit at the end that doesn’t have meat in it.

        I’ve heard that cooking shrimp with tails still encased in their shells helps preserve flavor, but I’ve never heard of anyone actually eating the shell.

        I just pick the end of the shell off the tail before wasting the whole thing.

        some of the protein powder that gym bros pay like $80 a jar for is made primarily from shrimp tails that have ground up into a fine powder. the shrimp processing facilities give away the shrimp tails for free as a byproduct.
