    Sorry, out of topic but is the word ‘as’ appropriate there? I thought ‘amid’ would be more accurate.

      “As” works better in this construction. If you decided you wanted to use “amid” instead it’d be “… amid growing concerns …”.

      “As” in this construction means “while” (or “at the same time as”).
