Waddya mean by turn dark? 🤔 kinda sounds like a hashtag snowflake conservatives would use to bitch and moan about minority representation in media haha

Ok bud. Not everything is quite so political. Think more “dark side of the force” and less “dark side of the skin tone spectrum.”

I was aware of both sides of the coin, which is why I asked the commenter to clarify.

It’s a common expression, hence people downvoting you and making snarky comments. When someone uses a common phrase and it’s met with someone asking a frankly silly, seemingly loaded, clarifying question, it feels a bit like shit stirring, ya know?

I get what you mean however:

It wasn’t common to me, I’ve never heard of that hashtag (I don’t use Twitter) and it’s not used by any of my family or friends, which is why I asked.

Contrary to the ideology of assume first ask never, I did the opposite and tried to politely ask what they meant.

I could care less about downvotes from people who’d rather make an assumption first than simply ask someone to elaborate or participate in conversation rather than black and whiting everything all the fucking time lol.

Sounds like a miserable life imo, I feel bad for them more than anything, vicious cycle.

Long story short, people should be more inquisitive and less judgmental imo.

Right, politely ask about the stuff some “snowflake” would say. The expression is someone “turning to the dark side” which I find very hard to believe you haven’t heard. You came across very much as assuming they were saying something political.

Yeah, that’s a good point. That was a lazy adjective I used for a quick jab. Didn’t really add anything and it only confused what I wanted to actually say because I got greedy.

Thanks for keeping level headed and talkin about this with me - I’m gonna leave it as is and take this one on the chin rather than edit it and try to rewrite things.

I think your earlier comment was not well received because you asserted a wild theory as a part of your question. Your intention may have been truth-seeking in good faith, so the unnecessary presumption was counterproductive.

I totally agree, I muddled the inquisitive tone for some ingroup social points. Totally counterproductive. Appreciate this view point

Lol Shitty male role models always get called out. Shitty female role models get praised by everyone because “slut shaming” is “wrong”.

Fuck role models, parents need to give their children enough love that they don’t have to slut themselves out to feel empowered.

I don’t understand. People get called out if you call them out. So why are you being sexist about it?

It’s not sexist to point out that Andrew Tate is recognized by many as shitty male role models while at the same time Cardi B is praised by the same people. Those are just two examples of shitty role models but the difference between public reaction for the two seems to only be about their sex. I’m just pointing it out.

She’s a rapper. I’m not saying people shouldn’t like her, she has some bangers and she’s pretty damn sexy. But she’s a gangster and used to be a stripper before her rap career took off. She promotes women being whores and only caring about men for their money. Obviously if it’s just adults listening it doesn’t matter and is fun. But kids like her too and it normalizes being a gold digging whore for them. It’s my opinion that if you have videos online of your naked body, you are disqualified from being a role model but others see it as empowering and a reason to be a role model. I just don’t get that.

Can I ask you what your definition of a whore is? You mention a specific instance/example of course. But I’m wondering what to you embodies a whore and why that’s wrong. Interested in discussion, not debating ya ☺️

Well I don’t think it’s fundamentaly wrong, I just don’t think little girls should want to grow up to be that. But I’m happy to expand what I mean when I get out of work. Give me a few hours:)

Just calling her a stripper is burying the big thing. She used to lure men into hotel rooms thinking they had a chance with her, then drug them and rob them.

She talked about it on an instagram.live video circa 2016 or so, it resurfaced and made news again in 2019 and comes up on and off since then.
