We’re autistic, and one of the characteristics of being autistic is that we feel things deeply. On the positive side, when we are happy, we feel immense joy compared to others. On the negative side, we feel painful emotions more strongly than others as well. Because of this, many of us have been invalidated, insulted, or pushed away when all we were wanting was to share what we were going through and get support. Maybe even a really tight hug and someone telling us that it makes sense that we feel that way.
While we can’t give hugs, we can help each other by sharing our pain and having others help us through it. So here is that post. What’s bothering you? Why? Tell us.

I’ve applied for at least 400 jobs and internships in and around my major. After getting fucking scammed in a job scam, then finally getting a real in-person interview, driving an hour and a half both ways, and giving them my references…the company sends me a boilerplate rejection email. They have not responded to my request for feedback.
And now that I have finally committed to going back to school, I find out that my alma mater’s “”““online””“” program isn’t really online at all! There are two programs for my major: an “in-person” program and an “online” program. Problem is: no one wants to teach online courses in the major, so literally only a single class is online. So yeah you can sign up for the “”““online””“” program, but online classes don’t exist.
Since I probably can’t get into any other school, and I need SOMETHING TO DO, I have just bitten the bullet and signed up for in-person classes.
So now I have to commute an hour both ways to school, pay for parking, and be fucking miserable and uncomfortable in an actual classroom.
So in short, three things are really bothering me:
I’m tired of getting scammed, the two most recent scams being particularly obnoxious in hindsight. IMO modern work, American education, and capitalism in general are fractally scams, and I’m tired of the whole thing.
I’m sick of continuously compromising and giving more and more of my time and money and just getting more fucked for my effort.
I need something productive to do.
