i don’t want to offend anyone, but some open source/privacy enthusiasts dislike google, but why?? google has made chromium, android, etc and most of the things they do are open source, and not only that, they also support creative commons media or public domain. i know the privacy concernes they may have, but they would never do anything bad to you. i love google personally because of their commitment to open source software.
This is where many people disagree. Ask one of the many YouTube content creators about how a random troll can destroy their livelihood, without any line of communication to Google staff. Ask anyone who depended on, invested in, or enjoyed one of the many cancelled Google services, or worse, had to migrate their content to a more enshittified Google replacement.
Corporations only have your best interests at heart so long as it makes them money.
