minus-square@Waves@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglish4•edit-21 year agoIt’s actually interesting, an inch is the last knuckle of your thumb, a foot is your foot, a yard is one pace (left right left) a mile is 1000 paces But for some reason when we standardized them so everyone’s mile would be the same distance, we used a freaking giant. Then pirates kept us from adopting the metric system
