That’s actually a common habit when you have a dedicated Netflix button on your remote! But if you’re looking for a more flexible option beyond just one app, Photocall TV is a great alternative. Instead of relying on a single platform, you can instantly access a wide range of live TV channels directly from your browser. It gives you more variety in content, from news and sports to entertainment, all without needing a specific app or button. Visit here: https://photo-calltv.es/
there was a redditor that was insisting that it was Nvidia paying Netflix millions and millions of dollars for the privilege of having a dedicated netflix button on the remote, and not the opposite, Netflix paying Nvidia millions of dollars to have a sponsored button the remote
I do the same thing all the time. Need to figure out how to remap the button to load TiviMate instead.
As a side note, I really wish Nvidia would release a new Shield. I just ordered a new one yesterday because honestly, it’s still the best streaming box.
Netflix testing the removal of its “Basic” subscription shows how streaming platforms are shifting towards ad-supported plans and higher-priced tiers to increase revenue. In a time where access to content is constantly changing, many users also look for flexible ways to save and manage their favorite videos. Tools like Snaptika make it easy to download and keep content available anytime, giving users more control over how and when they watch
Netflix is my go-to for streaming services. Mainly because there’s a dedicated “Netflix” button on my Shield remote that I keep hitting on accident.

Remap it to something that’s actually good
Whoa–there’s an app for that! https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/10/30/shield-tv-remote-remap-netflix/ Thanks!
Yeah it’s great, I’ve got my YouTube button mapped to smart tube next.
Remapped it to Jellyfin app on mine. Kind of ironic :)
the only regret I have is the inability to bind my jellyfin app to my remote Netflix button.
Depending on what TV you use, it might be possible.
