Anytime someone asks if this game is worth it, I always tell them it’s a good game if all you want is a game where you are a cyborg and can shoot guys in cool ways. The story sucks and the world is shallow, but I usually have fun using hacks and body weapons to fight people. I got it for 20 bucks and feel like that was about as much as it’s worth.
I could not disagree with you more. The game released buggy, but the story is aces, and the gameplay is top notch. The only reason I stopped playing it is because it’s kind of short, at least compared to a BGS game, which is my usual habit.
I agree the main story is kinda short but I found it also very engaging. There are so many great side quests plus a lot of extra detail hidden throughout that add context and link gigs together. The combat mechanics are great, especially once you start getting upgrades and good cyberwear. I’m really keen to see how this changes with the new update.
The story is good, an ace’s story would be like HZD. And it has too much bottlenecks, for a supposed ARPG. I started a new game by curiosity, with another character background, and it is different for 5 mins, then back to the same stuff that my previous character. Does it really has different endings, or just different epilogues ?
I’ve actually enjoyed it since day 1. On PC it always ran ok and had way fewer issues vs other platforms. I put like 200 hours into it so happy to have paid $60 back whenever.
I don’t think I’m getting the DLC, but I am going to do another playthrough simply because of the changes in patch 2.
