The survey found that a solid 52-40 majority of voters agreed with the statement, with the other 8% saying they were unsure as to his motivations. The findings will come as little surprise to a public that has morphed Trump’s codename for the war, Operation Epic Fury, into “Operation Epstein Fury.”

The belief that Trump is trying to knock Epstein off the front pages by going to war with Iran is most strongly held, unsurprisingly, by Democrats, who agree with the statement by an 81-14 margin. For those under 45, it is approaching an article of faith, with a 66%-26% majority agreeing with the idea. But even a quarter of Republicans told pollsters Trump launched the war as a distraction from Epstein.

The public’s belief that Trump waged the ongoing war to distract from the Epstein scandal was branded as antisemitic this week by the Anti-Defamation League and the Washington Post, which said the viral claim owed its popularity to a “pro-Iran propaganda network.”

“Pretty quickly after the conflict began, this conspiratorial rebranding of Operation Epic Fury into ‘Operation Epstein Fury’ started circulating on social media platforms,” Oren Segal, the ADL’s “senior vice president of counter-extremism and intelligence,” told the Post. An ADL report said the phrase “Epstein Fury” has been mentioned more than 90,000 times by roughly 60,000 accounts. The Post did not explain why it was antisemitic to believe that Trump launched the war to distract from the Epstein scandal beyond noting that Epstein was Jewish.

Democrats need to realize that the war in Iran is exactly in line with the entire history of the United States and its imperialist ambitions. It is not an aberration; it is not primarily a distraction from Epstein by a decent ruling class who only recently became monsters. This is what AmeriKKKa is. Democrats need to kill the USian in their head before AmeriKKKa kills us all.

The 81-14 statistic shows that, rather than condemning this war for the bog-standard act of imperialist aggression it truly is, Democrats are still desperately clinging to their defense of AmeriKKKa as if the Trump administration is somehow a corrupt implementation of a Platonic ideal AmeriKKKa which, in their minds, is still inherently not monstrous.

This “war” is literally the most American/Israeli thing ever and somehow that means it’s simply a distraction from something else. Two imperialist, fascist regimes committing blatant war crimes to spread their own power unchecked by the rest of the world is nothing new.

Like frankly the Epstein files at this point are just like the Panama papers years ago - from everything that has been released, we KNOW shit is absolutely fucked, and we KNOW absolutely nothing is going to come of it because those in power literally do not care. At this point anyone clamoring “release the files” needs a reality check - in a sane world, what we’ve seen of this already would have been far more than enough to put these people in the ground ages ago. Even if the full thing comes out, what’s going to come of it? Absolutely goddamn nothing.

The only things related here are the people behind both. Nothing is a fucking “distraction”, this is just capitalism at work, same as its ever been.

Is calling the 2026 Iran bombings a “war” a capitalist framing? Not trying to be combative, this is a genuine question, I’m just trying to check my own understanding.

Honestly up for debate, I’d consider it so but that might just be me being edgy. US/Israel’s terrorist attacks kicked it off but it’s of course escalating with Iran rightfully defending themselves.
