This is weird. Audiophiles like headphones because they say the sound is better. Me personally, I can’t tell the different but the trained ear can. And that’s ok.
I’m very much an audiophile, that’s what my home and truck and their higher end stuff is for, not a walk or lifting at the gym with wires bounching off of me. Also, my Bose earbuds sound very good just the same.
Another weird comment. You took your use case and applied it to all Audiophiles. Some of them want to listen to the music on their phone because they want to. Who said they had to be at the gym? A lot of real Audiophiles I know think Bluetooth connections sound like shit. And still have aux input in their vehicles as well.
