There’s a separate thread for the Senate elections, because that’s far, far easier to track than the House races and the Gubernatorial races.
Consider this thread open to everything else! House, Governor, state and local measures, everything else!
Polls start closing at 7 PM Eastern, 4 PM Pacific. My plan is to be obsessively posting results as they come in.
Current standings:
US House of Representatives:
Republicans: 218
Democrats: 214
Vacant: 2
Independent: 1
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX23) resigned 04/14/2026.
Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL20) resigned 04/21/26.
Rep. Kevin Kiley (CA3) flipped from R to I in March, 2026.
Every seat is up for re-election with 218 necessary for a majority.
Update Current called races put the House at 251 D, 155 R, with 29 still undecided. As near as I can tell, Republicans only managed to flip a single Democratic seat, Texas 32.

What’s the point of a megathread if nothing is added or updated in it?
then add something instead of bitching… like this:
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2026/11/03/us/elections/results-needle-senate-house-forecast.html
Oh, god. I have trauma flashbacks to 2016 of the NYT election needle.
then this might either help, or make it worse 😆
Both. Oof.
Why would I add anything to a pointless thread 🤔

So far the big action is on the Senate side.
So far both the House and Senate have seen 1 Democratic flip. 1/100 vs 1/435.
Four Senate flips now. All blue!
SIX!SEVEN!And you know what’s amazing? A lot of republicans are actually admitting defeat. They’re like “Yeah, you guys won. Good job.”
They’ll turn around and argue the Democrats have to do what they want or “you aren’t being bi-partisan!”
I don’t think that’s gonna fly anymore! It might have worked in 2021, but brother this is 2027.
Not helping the question of why have it? Especially when there are currently better ones in the comm already…
To keep from having 500+ races in a single thread.
House was a given. Senate was not. Governor races have no impact outside their own states other than the magnitude of the Blue Wave.
Which is why was pointless to have multiple megathreads
Not pointless, the Senate needed to be separate. The general thread has been updated, read it and you’ll see why.
The update being today after everything is exactly the point of why it was pointless.
Alternately, there’s ONE GUY running this and I can only track so many races at once. I had to choose what was important and it was more important to track the Senate.
Look, I get it, you don’t like the way I run things, but lets be 100% clear here - YOU DON’T GET A SAY.
Don’t like it? Door’s over there ->
Again why the single thread especially if it’s just one person doing it
