You wouldn’t know it was real at any point of doing it, and when you end up in the new universe you won’t retain knowledge from this one, you might even wake up in the universe where you never had this idea.
You might live in a universe without Trump but
You also wouldn’t know who Trump is. But then if only you could live in a universe where Musk was not the president you would kill for that.
