Quality just kept falling. It was so obvious when post upvotes and down votes were sold and or promoted. For me it went to shit somewhere around 20162017
2016,2017, when they unleashed the banhammer on many subs. because of trumps 1st term, and thats when russia realized that reddit was prime for ragebaiting, thats why the bans started then.
