Valve is generally supportive of mods (hell, a Portal 2 mod was just released a few days ago) but it seems like recreating Team Fortress 2 was pushing it… Really sad, honestly. I really hope Valve would just strike a deal with these devs and make it official rather than throw away the insane amount of effort they put into re-building TF2.
That’s a real bummer about the TF2 remake! It’s amazing the dedication some fans have. I agree, it would be fantastic if Valve could work something out with the team instead of shutting it down. Imagine the possibilities! Perhaps they could integrate some of their innovative ideas. It reminds me of those old Sprunki videos where they were always finding creative ways to enhance classic games. Hopefully, a solution can be found that benefits everyone involved.
