The pineapple (Ananas comosus) is a tropical plant with an edible fruit; it is the most economically significant plant in the family Bromeliaceae.
The pineapple is native to South America, where it has been cultivated for many centuries. The introduction of the pineapple plant to Europe in the 17th century made it a significant cultural icon of luxury. Since the 1820s, pineapple has been commercially grown in greenhouses and many tropical plantations. The fruit, particularly its juice, has diverse uses in cuisines and desserts.
Pineapples grow as a small shrub; the individual flowers of the unpollinated plant fuse to form a multiple fruit. The plant normally propagates from the offset produced at the top of the fruit or from a side shoot, and typically matures within a year.

Remember like 2 years ago when we had this power user who would get really aggro on people about all kinds of things, especially race, and people were fawning over him, and then it came out that he was a career American troop and everyone did a sudden pivot and abandoned him and he deleted his account?
Wild times.

They had some sort of extended crashout, but it was just kind of notable to me to see the id of maximally contrarian politics turn on a dime, and for a super hostile user to end up chasing themself off the site.

This was an outlier. People can be a little harsh on each other off-the-cuff here and there, but I don’t observe a persistent hostility. Also a lot of our users have been here for 3+ years and have sorta harmonized themselves with each other over time, while this user came on the scene (after some of the growing pains) and burned up within a handful of months.
I just thought it was worth remembering.
