I wish Rimu would see the wisdom in keeping those things separate. Its damaging to piefed, which is otherwise quite good.

Sadly it isn’t possible as they’re less making a federation software as trying to make their own vision of what social media should be.

Rimu goes by he/him pronouns please don’t misgender.

Piefed implinents pronouns in a way that doesn’t seem to be compatible with lemmy. I can only seem his pronouns on his profile when viewed through piefed.

I get where you’re coming from but they are is not me trying to do any gender.

Plus it’s hard to want to give respect to someone who gives zero respect to anyone else especially the Trans community

Edit I love my instance bur damn does it’s unstable nature make it hard sometimes

He showed up to blahaj asking for input on how to implement pronouns into piefed. Every interaction I’ve had with him has been respectful. I don’t know what you’re on about.

Nutomic is banned from blahaj for transphobia. Rimu is not. There are good reasons to criticize Rimu, but being disrespectful of the trans community isn’t one of them.

Because the adding pronouns to piefed has beeb their (rimu) and their defenders reason rimu can’t be a terrible person as they do shit like this and when they began to attack other instances. To the point it was just thrown out while rimu was attacking others and uses nutomic in the same exact way.

            Examples

            https://lemmy.ml/comment/25663276

            https://lemmy.zip/post/64292356

Including on of the piefed social mods doing the exact same line do defend rimu.

This is also completely separate from rimus attacks on anyone they feel isn’t using social media correctly, those rimu feels isn’t smart enough to understand rimus piefed code and anyone who dares point out flaws or issues in rimus logic.

And the fact you thought simply saying they are and and isn’t deserving respect is an attack on the Trans community is extremely insulting

I was speaking from personal experience as a trans person. Him asking for input on pronouns is the one time I personally interacted with him. It hurts learning that was a cynical ploy, though not unexpected from what I have learned of him since.

Rimu is a bad person, and the fact that his personal views are implemented in his software is the reason I don’t use piefed. The fact that the Lemmy devs keep a distance between those things and the software itself is why I use Lemmy despite its development team.

Everyone, even bad people deserve basic human decency. Misgendering is more of an attack on the trans community than anything you have linked to so far. If you have more to say on Rimu I’m happy to hear it as long as you don’t continue to insult me, a trans person, by deliberately misgendering people when talking to me.

Misgendering someone because you dislike them is an indictment of your character, not theirs.
